Quick Answer
Star Wars Zero Company follows a linear story campaign, but EA and StarWars.com have not published an authoritative chapter total. Release-build data and full-playthrough evidence support the working structure of 14 narrative sections—Prologue plus 13 further chapters—and a standard route contains 13 fixed Critical Tactical Missions plus one either-or branch in chapter 3. This is a researched working structure, not an official chapter-count announcement.

Optional Operations
Players encounter two different kinds of “mission.” The Critical Tactical Missions in the table are main-story battles; optional non-combat Operations instead consume Intel on the Galaxy Map and rotate with the Cycle without belonging to a verified fixed chapter.
- Sloppy Supply Route: An optional Opportunity Operation that costs about 100 Intel, remains available for about 3 turns, and uses a supply-route setting near Geonosis. Its fixed chapter is UNVERIFIED; it is not part of the main story and is not included in the main-story mission count.
- Risky Business: An optional Bond Operation that remains available for about 1 turn and contains four dilemma choices. Its fixed chapter is UNVERIFIED; it is not part of the main story and is not included in the main-story mission count.
Mission Type Quick Reference
| Mission type | Strict definition |
|---|---|
| Critical | A story-status label for a mission that advances the main story and becomes obligatory after its countdown expires. |
| Operation | A non-combat Galaxy Map assignment that costs Intel and can grant rewards, unlock missions, or affect relationships and side stories. Only an Operation marked Story belongs to the main-story chain, and it still should not be called a Tactical Mission. |
| Regular / Skirmish | An optional combat mission, normally used to obtain resources and rewards. It is not part of the fixed main story. |
| Crewmate / Hero | A mission connected to a specific companion. Some can become mandatory under particular conditions, but they normally are not part of the fixed main story. |
| Crisis | A time-limited combat mission used to prevent an enemy upgrade. It is not part of the fixed main story. |
